The Lotus Elise sports car is a two-seater cabriolet with a body that was conceived in early 1994 and presented in September 1996 by the Spanish car manufacturer Lotus Cars, marking its renaissance in the small segment of the sports in the 90s. He was named in honor of Elisa, the granddaughter of the company president at the time, Romano Artioli. So far, the best-selling model in the history of the company.
The car has a fiberglass body with manual finishing, mounted in an extruded aluminum chassis and a structure that provides a rigid platform for the suspension, keeping weight and production costs to a minimum.The roadster is capable of reaching speeds up to 240 km/h.
