Ferrari P4/5 at Bahrain Grand Prix
The 2008 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on April 4-5-6 will play host to a mouth-watering array of machinery celebrating Ferrari’s sixty years as a constructor of Formula One and sports racing cars. Since 1948 the scarlet cars from Maranello have epitomised the speed and glamour of international motor sport, and the new-look F1 Village at this year’s Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will be graced by some of the most stylish cars in the sport’s history.
Amongst the cars on display will be a priceless 166MM sports car, one of the first to be built by the legendary Enzo Ferrari following World War Two, and a 1959 version of the Ferrari Dino 246, the car in which Mike Hawthorn became 1958 world champion. Another rarity to be exhibited will be the Pininfarina Sigma design study, built to demonstrate possible advances in driver safety and based on the 1967 Ferrari 312 Formula One car.
Also a selection of the Italian company’s road cars will also be exhibited, including a 1967 Ferrari 275 NART Spyder - one of only ten built. The 1988 F40, 1995 F50 and 2003 Enzo will also be on show, alongside the unique Ferrari P4/5, a one-off US$4 million masterpiece.
