New Car: 2009 Mitsubishi Colt facelift

Mitsubishi has introduced the redesigned Colt supermini for European markets, including new 3 & 5 door Ralliart models. The car made its debut at the 2008 Paris motorshow.

Restyled by Mitsubishi Design Europe and built in the Netherlands, the Colt adapts cues from its larger sibling, the Lancer. The new Colt hatchbacks go on sale across Europe in November.

The Ralliart versions will be powered by a turbocharged 148bhp 1.5 litre 4-cylinder engine. In addition, the suspension on Colt Ralliart models, which replace the former Colt CZT, features upgraded suspension systems and new alloy wheels.

Mitsubishi also is offering a range of petrol engines on the standard Colt, from a 74bhp 1.1 litre 3-cylinder to a 107bhp 1.5 litre 4-cylinder. The company has elected to drop its diesel engine options in the Colt but will launch a new Clear Tec family of petrol engines with an automatic Stop&Start system, designed to produce lower CO2 emissions.
