The external design pays homage to the 2CV, and as an environmentally friendly car it also references that old-timer. But forget the super-basic 2CV ethos: this is about sophistication and luxury.
The interior is supposed to be reminiscent of a woman's jewellery box, a velvet-lined cocoon with a chaise longue for a rear seat. But under the skin is serious intent, a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
The system is likely to be rolled out in one of the company's DS series of models in 2012. It's likely that elements of the Revolte's external styling as well as the plug-in hybrid system could be sold as the DS4.
