Bugatti Galibier: The most powerful four-door comes with 16-cylinder engine
There will be a new four-door model from Bugatti: The Bugatti 16C Galibier concept study shows the future of the brand. According to the press release it will be the "most exclusive, elegant and most powerful sedan in the world." Bugatti CEO Franz-Josef Paefgen emphasizes that the concept Galibier is one of several future studies. The name 'Galibier' is not only one of the most challenging mountain passes of the Tour de France, but was in the 1930s, a variant of the four-door Bugatti Type 57th
The body of the study consists of hand-made four-door, dark tinted carbon components from the light shines through the fabric structure. Carbon was used because it is stiff and lightweight. Fenders and doors of the concept cars are made of polished aluminum.
The design of the Galibier is to combine sportiness with comfort and takes it to the torpedo-like character of the historic type 35, which has already been revived in the Veyron. Features include the brand's grille, large round LED lights on the towed vehicle and a ridge line. This line was already led by Jean Bugatti Type 57 for the identification of the brand.
Under the hinged from both sides of the bonnet lies a 16-cylinder engine with eight liters of displacement. The machine has a two-stage supercharged. What is special about the drive has been designed as a flex fuel engine and can be operated either with gasoline or ethanol. The unspecified quantified force - the power could reach the 1,000 hp - is transferred to a four-wheel drive. Specially developed ceramic brakes bring the four-door car to a standstill.
The interior reflects the re-design of the exterior. The instrument panel is reduced to the minimum, two centrally located main instruments also keep the rear-seated passengers on current speed and retrieved performance to date. The Swiss watch manufacturer "Parmigiani Fleurier" created for the Galibier, the removable "Reverso Tourbillon" clock, which can be worn with a cleverly designed leather wrist strap as well.
