BMW Mille Miglia Concept at Villa d'Este
This year, perhaps to complement an audience provided relatively little in terms of concept cars and contemporary productions, BMW has sent this reinterpretation Coupe 328 Mille Miglia victory in 1940.
It is true that the anniversary of the victory Bavarian Brescia-Rome deserves some consideration. But was it necessary in these times of change and return to the fundamentals of rational style BMW, revealing what passes for a bulky pot in the eyes of some?
In a way, why not. Interlaced lines and tortured, applied to a cut showing the proportions and profile of the 30 typed Streamline characterize the device reveals a mindset BMW radically different from the actual, marked by the sacred and blissful school "Efficient Dynamics". Not long ago, Chris Bangle infusing a dose of madness shifted to better convey the spirit of sportsmanship on the verge of being disowned. Now, attempts a return to this sporty, aesthetically speaking, to swallow the pill of the hybrid, the start & stop and another downsizing ...
Behind the curious opening cinematic of the roof, they discovered a roll cage and a passenger in the same vein as the carbon hull asymmetric: while raw aluminum and thick leather, with the vision that the prophets of the 30 cars should be thinking of the beginning of the next century.
A reminder honorable and legitimate end, even if a concept developed for the occasion had been greeted with less indifference.
