McLaren confirms MP4-12C GT3 racer

Fifteen years after his victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the McLaren F1 GTR, the structure of English announces his return to endurance. From the 2012 season, teams will engage the private MP4-12C in the GT3 European Championship.

The race version will be developed in collaboration with CRS Racing, a team present in GP3 and used to initiate Ferrari GT.

"The race is in our blood, it was natural to develop a GT3 alongside the 12C route," said Martin Whitmarsh, the McLaren boss.
