Mitsubishi offers huge discounts across its range (UK)

Mitsubishi has made substantial cuts to the prices of various models in its range ahead of the new '58' registration.

The move should help to counter the effects of the slowing new car market, but is also clearly intended to move some old stock - with exceptionally keen prices for unsold versions of the previous-generation Lancer.

£1000 has been trimmed from the price of both three and five door versions of the Colt CZ1, meaning the range now starts with an on-the-road price of just £6674.

The outgoing Grandis MPV is being offered with savings of up to £4000, pushing the cost of a 2.4-litre petrol Classic down to £13,454. Similarly hefty discounts on top-spec versions of the Shogun bring the price of a fully-loaded Shogun LWB Diamond with automatic transmission down to £28,154.

But the biggest savings, in relative terms at least, are on the last versions of the previous-generation Lancer. Mitsubishi has taken £1500 off the already keen price of the Equippe version, bringing it down to £8699 with the 1.6-litre petrol engine.
