Future Corvette C8 : mid-engine supercar for overall
Yes, I know, we are currently at the 6th generation of Corvette and logically be the next C7. But the crisis has passed by and the major projects planned for this model are left to rot at the same time that sales plummeted and GM entered into bankruptcy. Fortunately, the U.S. state has allowed GM to survive and destiny of the Corvette will be able to resume its course with a generation behind.
Indeed, it was decided not to consider finally the C7 than as an evolution of the C6 and major operations are driven on the C8 scheduled for 2016. The C7 transition in 2012 has been announced as the latest Corvette "old style".
The Corvette C8 will be revolutionary for many things. On the one hand, it will mandate to do anything other than the figurative face of queens segment in Europe and why it was established that a new design would be necessary to approach the standards of the European supercar, including a nose dive, a large posterior and a central engine! Incidentally, this will help to achieve aerodynamic consistent with the reduction of consumption to be imposed pollution standards. It is for the same reason that the Corvette will be entitled to a twin-turbo V6 that should not provide less than 440 hp.
The illustrations in this hypothetical C8 are obviously inspired by the concept Stingray.
